Exciting Additions for
Next Year
In our efforts to continue to provide the latest in technology enhanced
education, and through the support of our generous PTL, we will be adding a new
short throw data projector to our primary room along with a Mimio interactive
system. This will mean that we have interactive learning systems in all
classrooms K-8 and also our Music room. Stability balls are another addition to
various classrooms. These balls allow active students to use some of their
excess energy to balance themselves as they also work some of their core
muscles. We have experimented with these somewhat and they are a big hit.
Please remember the early registration deadline is June 1. ItÕs very helpful to have students registered so the teachers can plan for next year.
Poster Winners
This spring Our Seventh and Eighth graders participated in the Minnesota DNR ÒRoadsides are for the BirdsÓ Poster Contest. Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding effort in this project; Kimberly Kurtzweg- Honorable Mention, Liz Jaus-fourth place, and Sami Jo Brinkmann-third place. Bring your aluminum cans
Save those cans from your
confirmation and graduation parties! Our P.T.L. has a bin to recycle aluminum
cans. Please empty your cans into
the wire container. Please do not
put tin cans, pie tins, or aluminum foil into this bin, aluminum cans only. We
received over $600 in can money from our last load. It is definitely worth our
while to drop them off.
Third and Fourth Grade News
As we wind down the school
year weÕre remembering all of the enjoyable things we did. The
students wrote about some of their favorite activities and they are listed on
our classroom bulletin board. IÕll share just a few of their favorite things.
ÒI like typing tutor, P.E., writing, math spelling, and I really love learning
about Jesus.Ó Ò I really liked art because we got to make pretty projects. I
also liked science because we got to do experiments. I really liked math, but
not the tests. I actually liked everything.Ó The students learned Jesus taught
about His FatherÕs kingdom and did miraculous things so that His followers
could know more fully His FatherÕs love and care for them. They are also
learning about matter and the different states of matter. They are learning about
our national government and leaders. They are learning about pronouns in
English class. The students are also practicing hard to do their very best at
Playday.
Multi-Grade Classroom
Success
Did you know that surveys show that students in multi-grade schools have superior results in the areas of academic achievement and social skills when compared to students in single-grade classroom schools? Spread the word, multi-grade schools are great!
Ink Jet Cartridges and Cell Phones
Our school is collecting ink jet cartridges and cell phones. You may bring your cartridges and cell phones to the school, or you may take a recycling box to your place of business. Funding Factory will compensate our school on all laser cartridges and Apple, Cannon, Xerox, Lexmark, Hewlett Packard, and Compaq inkjet cartridges.
Tuition Assistance
Deadline
Emanuel has a tuition assistance fund to help families who
are unable to keep current with their tuition account. The deadline for
applications is June 15th.
Assistance forms are available at school or you can apply online at www.tuitionaid.com. If you would like
more information on this process, or would like a paper application, please
contact Mr. Scheele at school. You may also contact TADS at 1-800-884-8237.
There is a $29 fee for applying. This money is refunded if your family
qualifies for assistance. Last year 6 families applied and received a
substantial amount of aid. This year there is more than $6000 in our T.A. fund.
Scrip Makes Cents
Give those graduates something they can really use such as a gift card to their favorite store or restaurant. When you purchase scrip, youÕre purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday items like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase you earn revenue for our school. Groceries, clothing, toys, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip. We have a large amount of available scrip on hand for local stores so please stop in after the service and make your purchase. Scrip will be sold after church on all Sundays and Communion Saturdays. We have a lot of available scrip that would make great gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, or just plain thank-you for someone you know. If you have questions please contact either Michelle Miller (Ph. 507.326.5121) or Lisa Sprengeler(Ph. 320.238.2269).

KIDS Stamp Year End Report
This school year we had 41 students involved as savers in
the KIDS (Kids Into Discipleship &
Stewardship) Stamp program. Of those, 34 filled up 1 or more books, totaling
121 filled books with $3,025 being invested in the Lutheran Church Extension
Fund. The dedication of our kid savers is an excellent lesson of good
stewardship of the blessings God has given us. Participating as a kid saver gives
life long benefits in money management. KIDS stamps will begin again the first
week of the new school year.
The staff at Emanuel would like to wish every one of our
families a safe and joy-filled summer. We truly appreciated the opportunity to
be involved in the education of your children. Our greatest delight is opening
the minds of our students so they may see the wonders of GodÕs world, and more
importantly, the wonders of His Word. WeÕre looking forward to a break and then
seeing you back next year. Have
a great summer!
